An approach for leveraging Digital Twins in agent-based production systems

Abstract To cope with individualization and the high costs of downtimes, modern production systems should be flexible, adaptable, resilient. Multi-Agent Systems are suitable to address these requirements by decentralizing systems. However, agent paradigm is still not widely applied. One key reasons that agents’ knowledge bases had created manually, which cumbersome, error-prone, insufficiently standardized. Digital Twins have potential solve this issue, as they describe relevant information in a standardized way. This paper presents an approach leveraging Twins, i. e., Asset Administration Shell, realize context. For this, parser automatically extracts from initializes individual agents System, PADE.
